Privacy Policy

Last Hammer does not collect personal information. There are no accounts, no cookies, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking. We do measure aggregate traffic — how many people visit and which pages they open — using a cookieless analytics service, described below.

How the site works

Last Hammer is a set of static files. When you open it, your browser downloads the page and a data file containing the auction archive, and every search runs inside your browser. Your search terms and filter choices are never transmitted to us: there is no server to transmit them to and no database behind the site.

Analytics

We use Umami to count visits. It is a privacy-focused analytics service that sets no cookies and does not track anyone across websites. It records aggregate information about page views — the page opened, the referring site, and general browser, device and approximate location data derived from the connection. It does not build a profile of you, and we cannot use it to identify an individual visitor. Umami describes its own handling in its privacy policy.

What we do not do

• We do not set cookies or use browser storage of any kind.
• We do not run session recording or fingerprinting.
• We do not show advertising or use advertising trackers.
• We do not enable access logging on our hosting.
• We do not ask for, receive, or store any personal data.
• We do not sell your data or share it beyond what is described here.

Hosting

The site is served by Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront). Delivering any web page necessarily involves your IP address reaching the network that serves it. We have not enabled access logging, so no record of your visit is created or retained by us. AWS operates its network under its own privacy notice.

Links to auction sites

Search results link out to the auction houses that published the original lots. Once you follow such a link you are on a third-party website, which has its own privacy practices and may well use cookies and tracking. We have no control over and no visibility into those sites.

Sharing a search

Search terms and filters are kept in the page address so that a search can be bookmarked or shared. That address is created and read entirely in your browser. Bear in mind that if you send someone a link, your search terms travel with it — by design.

Children

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. Since we collect nothing from anyone, we collect nothing from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Should we ever begin collecting more than is described above, this page will say so plainly.
